Le Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval (Postman Cheval's Ideal Palace) was built between 1879 and 1912 by the French postman Ferdinand Cheval.
With no experience in architecture, but only self-educated with the help of a magazine, he began to build the palace.
The palace was built taking inspiration from different styles: Chinese, Northern European and Algerian.
In 1969 Le Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval was declared national monument by the Minster of Culture André Malraux.
Now it is destination for many tourists.
